[ William had quite the displeased look on his face when he showed up to book a girl for the coming weekend. A last minute business trip meant that all of his usual picks were unavailable. But poor timing on his part didn't mean he felt any less entitled to have what he came for. Most others might have been turned away, but Mr. Spears was one of the owner's top customers, and he wasn't keen on losing the business. So, as consolation, he offered up one of his newest girls at a discount, making sure to mention that she had a little something 'extra' to her, if William was up for a bit of experimentation. It caused William to raise his brow, curious though quite positive he knew what the man was implying. ]

Show her to me.

[ Pleased that the info didn't immediately turn him away he called for the girl. ]

It's truly a miracle. Halloween night and not a single scheduled reaping. The days where all of Dispatch had off together were few and far between, as it was, but to have no casualties to the events of the holiday was beyond William's comprehension. Still, he had the lot of them come in to finish up any outstanding paperwork before releasing them for the rest of the day. And of course, Grell had insisted they all dress up in a theme, regardless of the shortened work day. William hoped he could take the male nurse outfit off once he'd gotten back to his flat, but he'd agreed to celebrate the double holiday with a night at Dispatch's favorite local pub. Not wanting to go through that morning makeup charade again, he left the outfit on until later that night...

Now he's at the pub, arriving a tad early so that he's already seated at the bar with a gin and tonic in his hand.

[ It was time for William's yearly eye exam, something the man never looked forward to. And without the optometrist even saying a word to him, he knew he was going to need an increase in his prescription. That was always the case. Obviously, viewing countless cinematic records would put a strain on any reaper's eyes, but it always seemed like his own vision was far worse than any of his fellow coworkers'. With a huff of annoyance, William grabbed the next pair of blank sample frames, pushing them up his nose with the side of his hand. ]

Honestly. How am I supposed to chose a pair of frames if I cannot see what I look like in them? It isn't as though any of these samples have my prescription set into them.

[ Obviously frustrated, William leans in closer to the mirror, squinting to see something. anything! ]

Backtagging: always!
Threadhopping: go for it!
Fourthwalling: I don't mind, and William will probably just raise an eyebrow and shrug cause he doesn't have time for your nonsense.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): Suicide has been a touchy subject lately, but because it is canon that William committed suicide, thus causing him to become a reaper, it's inevitable that it will come up.

Name: William T. Spears
Canon: Kuroshitsuji
Canon Point: Post chapter 66
Age: Looks to be in his early 30s
History: Wikia page for William T. Spears
Personality:

Technically, this section should be left blank, as William T. Spears is virtually devoid of that thing which we refer to as a “personality.” But, I suppose that, in itself, creates his personality — stoic, serious, and ever composed. William is the epitome of professionalism.

On the job, William uses his lack of emotions to get things done in precisely the way they should be. According to him, bringing emotions into your job is pointless, as they only get in the way of what needs to be done. However, we see a lot of his true thoughts (and emotions!) coming out when he speaks with those he looks down upon. He never hesitates to point out how vulgar he finds demons, such as Sebastian, or to call his less-than-desirable coworker, Grell Sutcliff, names like, “that thing” and “trash officer.” In his speech, William attempts to remain formal, calling himself, and others, by their full names (unless he’s talking down to them.)

Yet, even with these emotions slipping though, his main drive is to get the work done. He’s a stickler for following the rules. One of his biggest qualms seems to be reapers who modify their scythes without following proper procedure, even going as far as to confiscate Grell Sutcliff’s chainsaw-scythe after ‘rescuing’ him during the Jack the Ripper Arc. Upon us meeting his other coworker, Ronald Knox for the first time, one of the first things William goes to ask is whether or not Ronald got clearance to modify his scythe into the shape of a lawn mower. Ronald cuts him off with his answer before he even gets the entire inquiry out, showing that William has a tendency to ask these types of questions.

Even William’s attire suggests someone who takes his or her job seriously. Unlike Grell Sutcliff, who wears effeminate shoes and drapes a stolen, red jacket off his shoulders, or Ronald Knox whose tie is always loose and ill fitting, William’s wardrobe consists of only highly professional garments. His black suit is always straight and pressed. The collar of his Victorian style undershirt stands up, just as it should, with his tightly knotted tie holding it perfectly in place. His black-framed glasses are constantly being adjusted to their proper position by whatever he happens to be holding in his hands. His shoes are shined, probably daily, and even his hair remains perfectly neat and parted (even while hanging upside-down from a trapeze!) In fact, the only time we see William in anything less, is during the Circus Arc where, in an attempt to blend in, his normal suit becomes affixed with wild patterns of stars and polka dots, and is drenched in obnoxious colors. Yet, when it comes right down to it, William is still dressed professionally in this moment (as outrageous garments are what we’ve come to expect at a circus.)

Adding even more to his professionalism is William’s obvious attempt at staying organized. He is often seen carrying a black, three-ring binder, which contains documents on his current assignment. These documents are tabbed with post-it note like slips to aid him in finding just the page he needs in a pinch. William also makes use of a handy, pen-shaped stamp that applies a ‘completed’ mark to any assignments he’s finished. On the cover of chapter 27, we see that owns a Rolodex, which he would use to keep track of any important names and contacts. Finally, we see him, regrettably, present Sebastian with a name card upon their first meeting, a formal attempt at keeping his name known to those he works with.

Though, all of this isn’t done without reason. William’s main goal in staying professional is to avoid working overtime. He’ll do whatever he can to prevent it from occurring, and on multiple occasions we hear him state firmly that he detests it. However, it seems that his avid attempts can’t always prevent the inevitable. Lack of personnel, inadequate and reckless workers (like Grell Sutcliff), and demons all work against his attempts to get out of work on time.

Demons are at the forefront, greedily consuming countless souls that are not yet ready to be reaped. As seen in every encounter between William and Sebastian, William cannot hold back his true feelings about the wretched creatures. He continuously insults Sebastian’s demeanor and doesn’t believe him for a second when Sebastian states that he’s no longer interested in savagely devouring souls. William detests even being around demons. While having to share a tent with Sebastian during the Circus Arc, William draws a line in the ground with his scythe, indicating where his personal space begins and that Sebastian was not to cross the line at any cost. When Sebastian's master, Ciel Phantomhive carelessly takes a half step into William's "zone", William immediately uses his scythe to poke Ciel out, complaining that they are going against the border rules that have been set. Even atop the trapeze, William’s stubbornness with the creatures persisted. He refused to complete the act easily, as he believed merely touching Sebastian would corrupt him.

It’s obvious that William likes to take the ‘to the point’ method whenever he actually does express emotion. He can be very skeptical of those around him, and automatically assumes others are doing things they shouldn’t be. Noting, again how when Ronald Knox comes to William’s aid towards the end of the Circus Arc, William gives one look at Ronald’s lawn mower-shaped death scythe and presumes it must be illegal. Ronald brushes off William’s accusing manor and hushes him by saying he’s already done all the paperwork.

But, the biggest way William gets his point across is through force. He adeptly uses his extendable scythe to threaten those who anger him, and won’t back down until he’s positive they will behave. Grell Sutcliff experiences plenty of William’s forcefulness after he’s caught misbehaving in the Jack the Ripper arc. William shuts up Grell’s whining by descending from the rooftops, directly upon his head, then demanding he keeps quiet by tossing him about by his hair. Eventually, he drags the battered reaper off by a fist-full of hair.

In the end, William expresses more emotion then he would ever care to admit. If questioned on it, he would probably deny everything. But as long as the job is getting done, that’s what really matters to him.

Abilities: Being a reaper, William has the ability to reap human souls with the use of his death scythe. He is given the power to then decided if it should pass on to the afterlife or, if the person seems as though they will bring something worthy to the mortal world, revive them. Along with this comes increased speed and agility, and enhanced balance and reaction timing. William is also a very adept learner and is dedicated to completing his assigned work in the most efficient way possible (Because who ever wants to work overtime, right?)
Strengths: Efficient, serious, adaptable, unflappable, professional
Weaknesses: Violent, unsympathetic, impatient, stubborn, judgmental, and really bad eyesight

God/Shinki: God
Why?: Technically, he is already a god and has already died in canon. His death was very significant to how he became a reaper, so I would like him to retain that memory.
Top 3 Choices: Ma'at, Shai, Chronos
God Type: He will treat his role as his newly assigned god with the same amount of respect and dedication as he does for his job as a reaper. However, since he is not coming to work with a large pile of documents stating who he is required to reap that day, he will be more selective with what prayers he will take on. For example, ones that are specifically directed toward the god he represents and ones that he is certain he can complete quickly, but also to the highest standard possible.
Power: Precognition - this plays off of William's job as a reaper giving him the knowledge of who is going to die, and by what means, before it happens (Which we know can be up to, at least, a month ahead of time!) This will give him insight into how a situation might go down before hand and allow him to complete the different prayers he takes on more efficiently.

01) Does your character believe in true love or soul mates? Love at first sight? Not in the least.
02) Are they or have they ever been in love? Yes. With his wife, who was the only person so far who's completely charmed him.
03) What are their general feelings about sex? It's certainly not something he thinks about on a daily basis or regularly desires. But he's not adverse to getting intimate. There's a time and a place for it, though.
04) How do they feel about sex without love? Whether it's a hookup or something more, you can trust that if William T. Spears is willfully getting that intimate with someone, then he cares about that person to some degree.
05) What about sex before marriage? Again, not specifically looking for it. If it's something both parties want, then that's fine. He has no moral ideals against it.
06) What counts as cheating and is cheating forgivable? Intentionally becoming intimate with someone else. And it would more than likely end the relationship, if it was a serious one.
07) Have they or would they ever cheat? He would not. If his interest had degraded that much to the point that he was thinking about cheating, he would simply explain himself and end the relationship.
08) Are they a virgin? I've played him as both. But headcanon mortal life has him with a wife and child, so obviously no.
09) First partner? Most recent? First and last was with his wife.
10) What sort of experience do they have with sex? Basic husband/wife level? Though, William's not stupid. He knows how things work and the different kinds of kinks that are out there. If it comes to that, he's not going to be completely lost on the topic.
11) How comfortable are they with their body? He has no issue with his own.
12) With their partner's body? It's really not an issue what the person looks like. And if he's willing to become intimate with someone, then he obviously has nothing against what they look like.
13) Who gave them "The Talk"? Probably his parents when he was younger.
14) Post-sex habits? Weird habits? Cliche cigarette?

I've thought about it, and I think I've refined what my headcanon is for William's mortal life. Also for why he despises demons so much, why he likes pigeons, why he hates overtime and how it all affects him in his reaper life.

william was married. his wife christine and him had a baby girl, but shortly afterwards (perhaps when she was 2-3) they divorced. it wasn't a pretty divorce as christine felt that william spent too much time on his work and had grown cold and distant, not giving enough attention to her. so christine took abigail and left. a year or so later, christine had a fatal accident of some kind...doesn't really matter what right now. abigail was returned to living with her father. William of course still had to work to be able to take care of everything so a caretaker lady was hired to watch and care for abigail while william was at work. one day abi asked will if they could go to the park and feed the pigeons bc mom would always take her. it hurt him initally that he wasn't there for that, but he happily took her. And they would go nearly every weekend. abi called all of the pigeons mr. coo and really loved seeing them because they reminded her of her mom.

eventually one night, when william had to work overtime, he came home to find the care taker perched over abigail with a vicious glint in her eyes. she was a demon and had been eying abigail since shed been hired. She gained abi's trust, having always been there to watch over her and when abi was upset about her parents that night, she enticed her by saying she could bring them back together if she wished. this was her way of offering a contract to abi, and excited by the prospect and not knowing the caretakers true intentions, willingly agreed. william came home to find his daughter's soul being devoured and after the demon fled spent the remainder of the night in despair with abi in his arms. eventually, he decided to end it, and going to the kitchen to get a knife, he found one of abi's drawings atop the table. it was of 'mommy and daddy and mr coo.' he took the drawing and returned to abi's body where he disemboweled himself with the knife, falling in a pool of his own blood beside her.

so, obvs this is why he hates demons, because they took what was precious from him in the most deceptive way. He also hates overtime for this reason bc he keeps telling himself that if he'd come home on time, abi would have been okay. he loves pigeons because of abi's love of them, and he has teh drawing framed and on his nightstand.

william probably seems like the one reaper who would overcome their fate and be granted forgiveness - what with his professional attitude all the time. but his work ethic is merely something that carried over with him from his mortal life, combined with necessary distraction. He really sees no reason to even try and make it out of his life as a reaper. It won't allow him to see his daughter again, and he almost feels as if he doesn't deserve it, having failed her. he may seem very collected on the outside, but being a reaper with no purpose is slowly starting to weigh on him, but being william, he can't get himself to open up and talk about it all with any of the others.
