[ If Grell had expected William to be oblivious to her activities, she was sorely mistaken. He'd come from his office multiple times that day, looking to have a word with her about proper office behaviour, timely submission of forms, and the coffee carafe from the break room, that she'd happily emptied but failed to refill. Each time, he'd been met with an empty desk, even though he'd seen her minutes before. And when questioned, Knox just brushed him off like it was no big deal - he'd finished his own work for the day and wasn't staying overtime, big plans for the evening and all that.
So, the next time William caught a glance of bright red slinking past the frosted windows of his office, he made an executive decision - quickly teleporting himself in the doorway of the office, appearing just before she attempted to leave... ]
And where are you sneaking off to this time?
no subject
This is going to be difficult. But, I think you will do a good job.
[ Possibly the only sincere compliment William's given her. But, the way she lights up around Rosalind, and how she controls herself to put the girl's interests at the forefront, says a lot to him. ]
no subject
...Really?
[ Reaching over Rosalind, she settles a hand over William's wrist in silent thanks. ]
no subject
[ He allows her hand to rest there as he breaths out calmly. The bed is somehow even more comfortable with them in it, as well. ]
no subject
I pray you're right. This is the best thing to have ever happened to me, really. I'd dread messing it up.
no subject
[ William tucks an arm under his pillow and pulls the blankets up just high enough to cover the girl's torso. ]
I suppose that is why we're both here.
no subject
I hope you know how grateful I am, Will.
[ Lids falling at last, she breathes a sigh. ]
Goodnight, my love.
[ With the business of their day, they manage to sleep through until the early hours of the morning before their daughter stirs. Grell would insist that William go back to sleep through sighs and yawns, as she needed to prepare for the day soon, anyway.
By the time he wakes, Grell has already managed to style her hair into an updo, and has Rosalind seated in her lap as she works on her makeup at the vanity. Bouncing the little one on her knee, the baby is wholly entertained by alternating between smacking her mother's mascara tube on the countertop and gumming at its lid. ]
no subject
Good morning. If it is still, in fact, morning.
[ it's hard to tell when in a cabin with no windows. ]
no subject
It is, indeed! We've still a few hours before they stop serving breakfast, in fact.
[ Chuckling, Grell turns so that the baby can properly see her father. ]
Good morning, dear. Did you rest well?
no subject
I did, for once.
[ Though she appears to be very proud of acquiring the tube of makeup. It gets a gentle look from William. ]
Have you eaten, then?
no subject
[ Looking down at Rosalind, she tickles a finger under her chin - and the baby just looks up to her with confusion, gumming away at that tube again. ]
We would't leave Papa, now, would we?
no subject
I would hope not.
[ He shakes away the sullen memory and pulls the blankets off himself. Then a moment to stretch and he's heading towards the bathroom to shower. ]
I will just be a few minutes and then we can go.
no subject
Right, well, I'll get this one into her little dress, then!
[ And once William has finished with his shower, Rosalind will be dressed with matching bow and stockings, seated upon the bed and kept amused by the ruffles she wears.
Grell, however, stands before the mirror in nothing but undergarments, as she's still lacing up her corset. Seeing the other earns a breath of relief! ]
Thank goodness. I'm going to need your help, darling...
no subject
His immediate attention is on his daughter, all smiles and giggles while amused with the smallest of things. But then Grell's attire gets a raised eyebrow. ]
That looks miserably uncomfortable.
no subject
Yes, well, you asked for a wife and I'm not the sort to go halfway.
[ Meanwhile, she's certainly appreciating the view that HE has provided, notably giving him a once-over as one side of her smile pulls wider. ]
no subject
I assume you need assistance in tightening it?
no subject
Mn, yes. I can either pull it tight, or get a proper tie on it, but neither at the same time.
no subject
[ It seems like something she would do. Plus considering she already owned one. Dropping the ends of the laces, he loops his fingers under the first crossing, pulling tight as to give a good starting point. Then it's the next loop down, and so on, each time pulling as tight as Grell's midsection will allow. ]
Is that tight enough for you?
no subject
Well, I have, but-- this needs to be a proper fit. Not something just to wiggle out of.
[ Still, she can't help but nibble at her lip with purr-like hum, as he relentlessly pulls at her midsection to tie those laces off.
She has a nice natural rouge going on, as she straightens herself out, hands gliding over her waist while shifting into it more comfortably. ]
Ah, now, that is what I was looking for.
[ If he isn't keen on dodging it, she'll turn to pat his cheek, laying a kiss upon the other. ]
Thank you, darling~♥
no subject
Keep your eyes on yourself.
[ Picking out a pair of pants, he unties his robe to begin dressing. ]
no subject
[ Thankfully, Grell still has her entire outfit to wiggle into, so that guarantees her focus. Still, she can pout about it! ]
You've just so much going on that's been unappreciated for too long. Truly, it's a crime!
[ She says, twisting her petticoat up over her hips! ]
no subject
Though as he faces her, he takes in the view. He's not certain he's seen her in a full gown. It's amazing how she can pull it off. They just might fool some people. ]
no subject
With the stole draped around her shoulders, she pins it in place with a brooch. Beneath, she wears a high neck piece that pairs well with her gown. All that's left are her gloves,
Altogether, it isn't a bad look. She'd never quite gone for one quite so convincing, so even she is surprised when she looks at herself in length. Hands sweeping over the front of her dress, Grell takes a slow breath, actually a tag overwhelmed! ]
Well, what do you know. That's not so bad.
no subject
It has been ages since I wore a bow tie. If you could.
[ Repayment for lacing her up minutes before. And as she does, he finally comments on her look. ]
I will most likely regret saying this aloud, but you look quite beautiful. [ And as if he needs to add a bit of ice to that romantic statement, he adds: ] I was not sure you would pull it off.
no subject
Although she fully intended to assist William, his compliment may overexcite her enough that she slings her arms about his neck first! All smiles, she giggles. ]
Ah, no offense taken, really. I wasn't so sure, myself.
[ But it's only moment before she pulls back, hands slipping down the length of his tie before they begin to secure it in place. ]
Being passable had never been an intention of mine, you know?
no subject
[ He becomes quiet as Grell works on his tie. Enjoying the simple moment, perhaps. Finally he speaks up. ]
I do like seeing your hair up. Though, I have little idea as to how you managed it.
[ Like, where did she tuck it all? You would never think knee length hair would flow down if you were to start plucking pins out of it. It's then that a random thought pops into his mind. ]
Was it always such a vibrant red?
[ It's so otherworldly on it's own. He wouldn't be surprised if it changed when she'd entered the reaper realm. ]
