[ If Grell had expected William to be oblivious to her activities, she was sorely mistaken. He'd come from his office multiple times that day, looking to have a word with her about proper office behaviour, timely submission of forms, and the coffee carafe from the break room, that she'd happily emptied but failed to refill. Each time, he'd been met with an empty desk, even though he'd seen her minutes before. And when questioned, Knox just brushed him off like it was no big deal - he'd finished his own work for the day and wasn't staying overtime, big plans for the evening and all that.

So, the next time William caught a glance of bright red slinking past the frosted windows of his office, he made an executive decision - quickly teleporting himself in the doorway of the office, appearing just before she attempted to leave... ]

And where are you sneaking off to this time?

I don't want to do that job again. Even if I may be good at it.

[ He pats at his own face. It feels slightly tacky but not as heavy or off putting as he would have expected. ]

[ Now, for her own face! Closing her eyes, Grell takes the moment to really enjoy it. ]

And I agree, you shouldn't pursue it again. You ought to do something that you're passionate about.

[ Once that's done, she'll be switching out her product for the body lotion. It's light and warmly scented with hints of rose. She offers some to William with an inquiring quirk of her brow. ]

So, what makes William happy?

I'm not certain I even know.

[ He eyes the container, but puts out a hand. ]

And where am I supposed to put this one?

Your hands-- and body, if you'd like.

[ Grell works the product up her arms, over her shoulders, and her chest... ]

There has to be something, darling. Something that make you think that life could be more than it was.

[ William sticks to using it on his hands. Though he does watch as Grell works it over her shoulders. ]

Hm. Perhaps long, hot baths, where I very nearly fall asleep. Something relaxing such as that. I don't see how that would translate into a profession.

[ Grell chuckles, perhaps watching the other from the corner of her eye. ]

No, I'm afraid not. A shame, really, that could've been something I'd excel at, as well!

[ She turns to seat herself on the edge of the vanity with a pleased little grin, lifting one of her well-toned legs to apply the lotion to. She'll begin at the feet and work her way up, for a little extra appeal. ]

I find it difficult to believe that you haven't anything else that moves you, though!

[ William can't help but watch as she's got her leg very near resting upon his shoulder! ]

I am not a very exciting person. My life as a mortal was not much different from what it is...was as a reaper.

[ His brow furrows as he says it aloud. It's actually rather depressing admitting he's so bland. ]

Now, I don't think that's true. You're just too stubborn; once you focus of something, you need reminding that there's more to life outside of it.

[ Now it's time for the other leg! ]

You'd be brilliant as a lawyer. Or perhaps a business owner of some sort... Oh, but that's not much more fun than what we're used to at the office...

[ Trailing off in thought, hands at her thigh, she crosses her legs over with a long hum. ]

Honestly, I hate how accurate that assessment is.

[ He glances over to Rosalind, still sound asleep on the bed. ]

Whatever it ends up being, don't allow me to drown myself in it.

[ Attention falling to William, she reaches out to briefly dash a knuckle down his cheek with a half-smile. ]

Sorry, darling. You know I'll demand your attention for the two of us every chance I get.

[death_glare]

[ Surprisingly, his frown softens. ]

I know. Perhaps it is time for me to admit that I need that from you.

[untodeath]

[ With brightened eyes, her brows rise, cheeks coloring just so with glee. ]

You know, as much as I do love that cold edge of yours, I've rather fancied the idea of something a little warmer...

[death_glare]

[ Sighing, he sucks up his pride and takes her hand as he stands. ]

I will try, then. I do want both of you to be happy.

[ He tugs her off the vanity counter and towards the bed. ]

Let's get to sleep.

[ Eyes glistening with overwhelming excitement, Grell happily wraps her hand in his whilst trailing after him. ]

That sounds like a wonderful idea.

[death_glare]

[ He lets go once they reach the side of the bed, then rounds to the other, so they may each take a spot next to Rosalind. Ever so carefully he pulls back the cover, climbing in and hoping she doesn't wake in the process. ]

[ Doing just the same, Grell quietly giggles beneath her breath. Rosalind, however, seems less amused with the bed moving around on either side of her! With the littlest whine, she kicks her feet against the blanket, a hand rubbing at one of her eyes.

The redhead settles down next to her, petting over her soft hair and kissing the top of her head. Looking up to William with nothing but love and joy in her eyes, she smiles. ]

[ Settling down on his side, he watches the gentle kiss Grell gives the girl. ]

This is going to be difficult. But, I think you will do a good job.

[ Possibly the only sincere compliment William's given her. But, the way she lights up around Rosalind, and how she controls herself to put the girl's interests at the forefront, says a lot to him. ]

[ Between William's admission and his honest compliment, Grell's not certain how much more her heart can take! Her eyes are a little misty, actually. ]

...Really?

[ Reaching over Rosalind, she settles a hand over William's wrist in silent thanks. ]

You know, very well, that I wouldn't say so otherwise.

[ He allows her hand to rest there as he breaths out calmly. The bed is somehow even more comfortable with them in it, as well. ]

[ Relaxing into her pillow, she pulls back, though with some reluctance. Instead, she'll drape her arm over the child, if she'll let her without fuss. ]

I pray you're right. This is the best thing to have ever happened to me, really. I'd dread messing it up.

I do, too.

[ William tucks an arm under his pillow and pulls the blankets up just high enough to cover the girl's torso. ]

I suppose that is why we're both here.

[ Humming contently, Grell's lashes begin to flutter as sleepiness takes hold. ]

I hope you know how grateful I am, Will.

[ Lids falling at last, she breathes a sigh. ]

Goodnight, my love.

[ With the business of their day, they manage to sleep through until the early hours of the morning before their daughter stirs. Grell would insist that William go back to sleep through sighs and yawns, as she needed to prepare for the day soon, anyway.

By the time he wakes, Grell has already managed to style her hair into an updo, and has Rosalind seated in her lap as she works on her makeup at the vanity. Bouncing the little one on her knee, the baby is wholly entertained by alternating between smacking her mother's mascara tube on the countertop and gumming at its lid. ]

[ William will be very grateful for that extra bit of sleep, as it's not something he's had in quite a long time. But eventually he does sit up in the bed, leaning back against the headboard and yawning against the back of his head. He can see Grell and Rosalind's reflections in the vanity mirror and greets them. ]

Good morning. If it is still, in fact, morning.

[ it's hard to tell when in a cabin with no windows. ]

[ Rosalind flops back against Grell's torso and looks back for William's voice, gabbing noisily with excitement. She holds up the mascara tube with a wave of her chubby arm. She's acquired a thing, look! ]

It is, indeed! We've still a few hours before they stop serving breakfast, in fact.

[ Chuckling, Grell turns so that the baby can properly see her father. ]

Good morning, dear. Did you rest well?

[ William's about to say something about Rosalind playing with a potentially toxic substance if it were to be ingested, but the cap appears to be on. ]

I did, for once.

[ Though she appears to be very proud of acquiring the tube of makeup. It gets a gentle look from William. ]

Have you eaten, then?
